I upgraded to a pi5 and I can not even get the red diamond to work. It says invalid properties -host. Does Node Red work on a pi5?
Welcome to the forum @DavidRDF
Yes it does. How did you install node-red and what red diamond are you referring to? The recommended method is described in Running on Raspberry Pi : Node-RED.
Yes, I followed those instructions. Worked fine on pi4, not pi5.
In future please copy/paste text for logs and code, rather than screenshot.
How is the ping node configured? Double click it to see.
I did not have to configure ping node on pi4. Just setup a google ping and it work. The diamond on top is non functional on pi5. I removed the pictures.
If the Ping node is in it's default mode "Timed" you have to enter an IP address or hostname in the node's config.
In "Triggered" mode you can pass a IP or hostname into the node via msg.payload.
Which do you have?
Actually a picture is better than nothing.
For example a picture of the node config that opens when you double click on it might give us a clue.
Thanks for the responses. I reflashed image and loaded Node Red first this time. Then I loaded Meshtasticd second and it all works.
I am glad that you got this sorted, but I fail to see what the solution has to do with the ping node showing an error.
