You're king! I followed your steps: installed node.js v.14.x, rebuild npm and uala....tado node started working immediatelly...

Maybe one additional question not related to intiial question.
In previous version of nodered, I was used to use shortcut ctrl+Right click to get most used nodes...in v.2.2. This is not working anymore. Any idea if this is possible through any other command?
Sorry, don't know. I suggest starting a new thread. I haven't used that feature. I would not have expected something like to stop working so it may be a bug.
