We Just published an article on how to build an MCP server for Node-RED

Just wanted to share our new article on building with MCP nodes for Node-RED. These nodes let you connect AI agents directly to your flows so AI can read sensor data, check databases, and control equipment.

The article walks through everything step-by-step with real examples:

Really cool product. Well done.

Just a minor thing - the title of this thread suggests that it is MCP for Node-RED but if I've understood it correctly, this is MCP for FlowFuse? If so, could we adjust the title to save confusion? (Sorry, not had time to look at the video yet).

Hey Julian. Hopefully I can clarify.

Firstly, I intentionally moved this thread to Vendors > FlowFuse because while the MCP offering is indeed nodes for use in Node-RED flows (that permit the creation of an MCP Server in Node-RED), they are FlowFuse exclusive nodes at this time (though that could change at any time).

Thanks Steve, not a big deal. But worth remembering when publishing FlowFuse specific items that it is easy to confuse people with the difference between the commercial FlowFuse cloud service with the open source Node-RED app.

The distinction is getting blurred between features specific to flowfuse and those applicable in Node-red (and flowfuse, presumably).

For example:

For sure it's up to FlowFuse where you document your code, it just gets confusing!
