[Announce] @gemini86/node-red-contrib-chart-image (NEW Chart.js 4.x update)

---NEW UPDATE---

The old node sat stagnant for a while as I struggled to find the time and energy to update it to work with the latest chartjs-node-canvas changes. At the same time, node-canvas could not work on newer versions of Node.js, and Chart.js introduced a lot of breaking changes between major versions. Because of that, I felt the best path forward was to leave the old node in place (deprecated) and publish a new, name-scoped package.

To try it out, you must remove the old node before installing the new one. This ensures you don’t need to swap nodes in your flows—existing nodes will automatically associate with the new package.

Please read the Chart.js 4.x documentation, as several things have changed in how chart configuration is structured. Also review the node documentation, since there are some important differences between how Chart.js behaves when embedded in a web page versus how chartjs-node-canvas works.

As always, have fun!
