Bacnet Write block

Hi
I am new to Node-Red and am trying to use the bacnet node. I can get the read to work and the write to work. What I can't figure out is how to put a value into the write block. To clarify (I hope) the write block works when I use the value in the properties box. Can anyone help?

Hi Andrew and welcome to the forum.

I have never used Bacnet nodes, But most inputs for nodes can be sent in msg.payload, or you may be able to set input to msg.property name. Can you show a image of the bacnet write node config. Also what does the sidebar help text say?

I have been using the node-red-contrib-bacnet library and everything is working perfectly, I can read and write values to my BACnet controller without an issue. I do have one problem though, I cant figure out how to use the value from another node like a timestamp as the value that is sent by the BACnet write node. When I do it like this it writes the value perfectly: [u1] But it does not work at all when I try to use the msg.payload from another node: [u2] I have tested the msg.payload it…

Many thanks for the prompt response. The topic is exactly my problem I was just hoping for a simpler solution!

I have spent my career using function block programming to programme Siemens Air conditioning controls so have never needed to code.

I guess I’ll just have to play around with it. Thanks again.
