Also worth noting that you can do quite fine-grained configuration of MQTT if you need to. You might want this in order to ensure that messages are only able to flow from your core instance.

I suggest using mosquitto broker rather than a node red node acting as a broker. That way you more options for the configuration and it does not run in the same thread as node red.
