Credentials could not be decrypted

I have this repeating problem with the credentials file not being able to be decrypted. There are repeating instances where my flow would lock up I'm suspecting due to lack of system resources,

BUT main issue relating to this post is the credentials error that I get every time I have to restart my server instance. I am forced to come into all nodes that require keys and login info etc. and reset them.

I have tried to simplify the file name to just flows.json and flows_cred.json,

I've even tried to specify a credentialsSecret in settings.js in hopes it would have a consistent key, but this doesn't seem to resolve the issue...

I think it might be worth noting that sometime in the past I did enable Projects and found out later I should avoid till later.

I think your settings.js file needs examining.

Open a CLI / Terminal and go into the node-red directory.

load the settings.js file into a text editor, then copy/paste it here.

Prefix the pasting with 3 reverse ' symbols (Usually to the left of the 1 key (top left of keyboard), paste the file/text then press ENTER and then type another 3 of them.
You know you got it right if it all gets put into 1 line in the preview screen (the part on the right of the screen).

Someone more knowledgeable than me should then be able to help you further.

That doesn't look like the settings.js file from Node-Red.

Please check that you are in the .node-red directory when doing what I asked.

Yes it does. It looks exactly like a Node-RED settings file.

@mrSidX make sure you have a value set for credentialSecret in your settings file (which I can see you have got). It will use that key to encrypt your credentials the next time you deploy.

After you restart your server and it says it cannot decrypt your credentials, check your settings file still has that value in it.

Checked just now, it's confirmed, still there same as the posted settings.js file above...

I have not modified the file since before yesterday, as I had a repeat on the lock up on the server side. Can't even get into ssh, but still the node-red credentials popup warning came back up (after a system reboot), and I've had to again re-enter the credentials to various nodes when node-red restarted.
