Flowfuse authenticator

Hi All,

New user here so still exploring lots of things on the dashboard 2.0.
I'm currently testing to create a basic application in the dashboard. I'm using a flow fuse remote instance to build this.
However, I have issues in selecting the 'Flowfuse User Authentication'. This option seems to be only available for the hosted instances and not the Remote instances.

I was however able to add the 'user add-on' to my palette but can't seem to do much with it as this authenticator is not on.

Anyone knows how to set this up for the remote instances?

Hi and Welcome,
Pay attention 'Flowfuse User Authentication' is a licensed option.

Need to check for Device Agent

Hi,

Thanks for your swift reply. However we have an Enterprise license on which I'm testing.
I don't have the option to select the 'security' tab on my remote instance however:

'

I also have the owner role..

Remember that devices receive a snapshot. This means that they are configured from the parent instance. I can't help more in this area, maybe @Steve-Mcl if available.

FlowFuse auth is not available in devices at this time. This is primarily due to architecture difficulties (auth lives in the FlowFuse core, remote instances will typically be inside the users LAN) however, it is currently possible to add basic auth to the endpoints by editing your device yaml config.

See httpNodeAuth in the options: GitHub - FlowFuse/device-agent: An agent to run FlowFuse managed instances of Node-RED on devices
