Thanks for your effort and giving us the space here to ask and discuss with you. I have just heard about Node-RED from a colleague of mine. So please advice me how to download the software and try it live.

See the Getting Started docs and also I recommend watching this playlist: Node-RED Essentials. The videos are done by the developers of node-red. They're nice & short and to the point. You will understand a whole lot in about 1 hour. A small investment for a lot of gain.
