Has the flow editor cursor (a cross) changed in v4? It is fatter than it use to be and I find it more difficult to hit node inputs and outputs. I haven't managed to get a screen capture of the cursor. I will try and and get a photo.
Or perhaps it is the theme that is the issue, but I feel sure it has changed recently.
This is on another system using the default theme.
I'm on 4.0.9 and using a dark theme.
I can't say I've noticed anything.
Sorry that may not be helpful. But just saying.
What browser are you using Colin?
I expect your pics are snapshots with a phone, but it all looks horribly fuzzy and imprecise.
I don't see the outlined crosshairs on Firefox, Node-red 4.1.0.
I am using Edge. The fuzziness is my careless use of the phone.
It is the theme that is showing the cursor in the first photo. I am using midnight-red from @node-red-contrib-themes/theme-collection, which was updated recently, so maybe it changed then. I will have to find a different theme. In the meantime I have gone back to the default.
Are you using a dark theme, if so, which one?
Weird.
I do get a cursor similar to yours, but can't get it on a screen shot/capture program.
When I run it the cursor goes from the +
to the arrow.
But I shall say I do see a similar piccie to you.
Which photo, and which theme are you using? Look in settings.js if you don't know. Search for theme.
I am not, partly because I have no idea how to choose a theme!
Putting theme: "dark" in settings.js has no effect.
My own fuzzy camera work:
The theme and cursor.
Dark with the +
cursor outlined.
I'll try to get a piccie ASAP.
Very badly done.
Sorry.
Dunno how to save pictures from DRAFTS to computer.
So I had to view them and take screen shot.
Super close up
And not so close up.
Maybe a bit better
You just had to say it was the same as my first photo.
@node-red-contrib-themes/theme-collection maintainer here.
I don’t get it. This is what I see on Edge
And on Chrome
Go into your .node-red folder and run
npm install @node-red-contrib-themes/theme-collection
Then restart node-red and in Manage Palette if you find that and click on the plugins dropdown and will give you a long list of themes you can choose from. To use one edit settings.js and in the editorTheme
section put, for example
theme: "midnight-red",
Don't forget the comma. Then restart node-red again to pick it up.
You can also install it via the Palette Manager.
I hadn't realised that. Thanks.
I also hadn't realised that our very own @TotallyInformation has created one, so I have to try that out.
It isn't terribly exciting I'm afraid. I just needed a theme that toned down the glaring white because I was in danger of getting snow blindness!
I don't want an exciting theme, just one that is gentle on the eyes. I find it quite appealing, I will run with it for a while.
I don’t have a solution here, but just wanted to note that my cursor is normal looking (no outline) and I’m using dark theme… tried on edge and chrome, no outline on my cursor. Possibly an OS setting, back in the windows 3.11 days, all the cool kids chose custom cursors.
