Is it possible to "speak" to Google Home?

I was hoping to be able to send messages to my physical Google Home, like "What's the weather?" or "Tell me a joke" and the response come out of the Google Home as if I spoke it. But after looking around i can't see such a thing. Is it possible?

My workaround is to connect the output of a Pi to a headphone placed near the mic input of an Alexa device.

Same idea should work for Google Home
