Is possible to access field of configuration nodem from html

Hi everyone,

I have this doubt. I need to access the field of a configuration node when the editor return to the principal node editor that consent to add the configuration node. I found a poor work-around inserting in some hidden input the values inserted in the editor of configuration node when the event oneditsave is launched. There is a some clean way to do that? I need a clean way because the data are username e password and is huge not secure to copy them on hidden input text.
