Oh, one advantage or flexibility of json-db... I can have periods in the path descriptors, variable name references. So '/www.google.com' is a valid descriptor label. Whereas in context, the periods denote property (tree) leaves, so you get www->google->com->(value). But this is for humor intent... not a serious justification of its use.
Or, of course, disadvantage, dependent on what you want to do.
