🎉 Node-RED 4.1.2 available

Node-RED 4.1.2 is now available.

This is mostly a bug fix release and includes some security updates to dependencies.

Full changelog available here:

If you're already running 4.1 and have the update notifications enabled, you should be getting notified in the editor within the next 24 hours....

The Docker images are cooking in the oven as I type and will be available shortly.

Hi. I'm running the latest Node Red add on in HAOS. It keeps telling me update 4.1.2 is available but being very new to Home assistant and node red, I have no idea how to do it from within the addon in home assistant.

Can you assist?

Hi @Spidy67 welcome to the forum. Although there are a few home assistant users on this forum, you might have better luck asking on the home assistant forum. regardless of how to update node-red in home assistant, they (HAOS folk) will need to actually release an update that incorporates node-red 4.1.2 - this may not yet be done. Idk :man_shrugging:

I believe that the alternative is to remove the HA plugin and install node red standalone. One can then, I understand, install the home assistant nodes into that node red and get the same capabilities as with the plugin, but have full control over your node red. This is only what I have read, however, personally I would not use HA at all unless there were no alternative.

Updating is typically done from within the Settings of Home Assistant. There, you'll get a notification when updates are available for HA itself or for any add-ons you might have. So, you don't typically do that from inside the add-on.

In this case, the update is only just made available.

I'd think the update notifications inside Node-RED should not be enabled in the add-on, to avoid this confusion.
