Possible to disable editor "remember cursor position" feature?

I see that there was some discussion about this in Oct 2022. Is there now a setting to disable it? This feature drives me up a wall. It has even caused me to delete large chunks of code. I really wish I could switch it off. While I'm complaining, I wish the "zoom text" feature could also be disabled.
