Query several Modbus meter by RS485 RTU

Hi,
is it possible to query 2-16 Modbus meter (SDM630 Modbus V2) in Node-Red without a TCP Gateway?

I would use a RS485 Hat like this:

but I am not sure if it is possible to query 2-16 meters.

I don´t have them yet, just want to ask generelly.

in the manual of the TCP gateway it says that it takes one second per meter = 16s for 16 meters.
