How can I get the words out of the Alexa command? I have tried various ways but can't. for example when I tell it to turn on the light, I can read it, but then when I try to get it out with "msg.payload.desctiption.summary.value" it doesn't read it to me. What am I doing wrong?

I think you want to set msg.payload to msg.description.summary.
