What does the TCP Request Node by a time-out?

Greetings Ladies and Gentlemen.

Question: What does the TCP Request Node by a time out?

Does the node return than null?
Does it wait till a response is resieved?

I can't create the issue in my test inviroment and the documentation of the node does not takle this topic.

The question is a bit basic but I cant find an answer.
