Access Android phone sensors

Hi,
I just integrated an old smartphone into my project to use as a camera live feed. It works fine, but a while ago I saw a video of someone installing node red on android and accessing the various sensors of the phone. I would like to do the same, but without making the phone the server running node red. Instead I would like the phone to be just another client in my project.

Can anyone recommend an android app that can do this?
