That does look nice - the candles on the cake is a nice touch

Stick a red warning flag out of the node, when you deploy if they are touching - that'll stop us from doing it
i think there may already be a rule within the linter if nodes overlap
What's "the linter" ?
The little dot for input or output could be empty when no wires are connected, filled when at least one is.
We did once have a suggestion about changing the shape for connected wires - but it was (imho) a bit fugly.... but a subtle shading doesn't look too bad.
4 posts were split to a new topic: Making node wires more visible
Very very, minor, minor thing now I've embraced non-labeled nodes .....
The MQTT connected message seems a bit anomalous in non-label mode
Even worser in a group
Maybe just use the colours and mute the text?
Would just the colour info be enough to signal an issue?
Could connecting just be changed to ? (or something equally short) ?
Or maybe not automatic suppression but an additional tick box in the config?
Maybe added to all appearance configs?
As I started off - this is minor, minor

So this is where I've got to using grid 10 spacing
I can get sort gaps before and after nodes looking the same and I can touch them if I want to
In 24 hours, I've got used to the more fiddly nature of snap to grid 10
If this could be achieved with Dave's PR and works on default 20 grid then we'd have a total win but I'll just stick with grid 10 from now until if/when that comes about
Note: - the ? node is the random node but I didn't feel the default debug type symbol conveyed it's purpose when in non-label mode so I changed it
