I've got around it by checking if 'quantity' is blank or empty - and if it is - then offer the user the opportunity to enter the weight. A sort of quick fix.
I'm editing the product now, if you can share a pic with all the details ![]()
Just says 28g on the glass jar. Once you have updated the product I'll try re-scanning.
The returned object says.. "Aldi Specially Selected, Schwartz' although on the glass jar there is no reference to Aldi. Strange.
28g it is when you scan now, easy to edit on their web page.
I never knew 'Barcodes' could be so much fun. Nearly on a par with designing PCBs and experimenting with ESP32-S2-Mini devices. I did try explaining the 'Spice Rack Monitor' to my first wife and even offered her a demo - but for some reason she wasn't that interested!!
Since it is definitely Schwartz, I removed Aldi tag.
I don't think it would take long to correct any items that I have in my Kitchen.
Oh - so that means... I have to delete it using 'Spice Rack Monitor' and re-scan it. More work.
EDIT: Just performed the above steps and now get...
Its on my todo ![]()
Responses with OK, will soon support an attachment property.
Initially will support the URL of an image, that will add a button to the response terminal, to view the image
So, here's another one for your backlog Marcus. ![]()
I'd like to be able to scan products while out and about, include a price and the shop name. Then upload them to Node-RED on return to home. I would then run through and compare the prices online.
Even better would be the ability to add further prices/shops while offline - yes, I know, I can't help it, I have to compare things in every possible shop and online before buying!
I actually like the idea...
Part of the Node set, is the ability to request information.
/* Just an example */
msg.status = 'INFO'
/* Types: string, ml_string, number, date, time, <fixed value> */
msg.payload = {
product: 'string',
qty; 'number',
cost: 'number',
date: 'date'
}
This then presents a form, and the item comes in via the incoming item node.
What I can do, is add the ability to upload to the scanner, an offline form.
Have an extra button, that shows your uploaded/offline forms.
And of course, when the phones connects back to Node RED - it will auto push them all to your Flow.
I like it
Dave and others, there is an API guide I just found -
so you can limit the returned fields to those you want e.g.
https://world.openfoodfacts.org/api/v2/product/50020140.json?fields=code,product_name,brands
There is also a product database for none food items https://world.openproductsfacts.org/
That's very useful - rather than receiving a HUGE object.
For anyone enjoying this Barcode party...
The features I am looking to implement next
- Off Line Forms (this could be really cool)
- New input type (dropdown) :
myDropDown: ['Apple', 'Android', 'Doro'] - Image Attachments for an
OKresponse
And If possible (skillset dependant)
- NFC Support
Well with over 420 views I think a large number of people are enjoying it.
While I do use the trolley website, I've never tried the app, so I can't say I recommend it, but the Sun does, so it must be good?
or.. what on earth is "BARRED" ![]()
Do they have an API? ![]()
The Sun do - Absolutely Pernicious Information!
If they do, Im not going to use it. Just imagine what they could get for details of my searches for cheap gin and lemons, pies and chips!
Ooh 100th post in topic. Surely that's worth a badge or something?
