For ages I've been using ctrl-shift-C to copy a group style and ctrl-shift-V to paste it to another group. But recently ctrl-shift-V is doing the same as ctrl-V. Can somebody confirm if this is the case for them too? I'm on NR 4.0.9.
Suspiciously I've also got autohotkey running, but it's not tinkering with those keys, and I've had it running for ages too.
Group style is the colour, background etc. There is a builtin action to copy the style properties of a group and “paste” them into another group. Not aware of any changes to the keyboard handling that would have changed things in this area.
I used Chrome Remote Desktop from the laptop to another PC using the logic that if it was the laptop it would continue doing it with remote desktop, but it didn't. It worked there. Time for a reboot perhaps.
Given it's clearly only me on this laptop this can be ignored. I must have some other software doing something (time for a virus scan). But to answer the questions...
What OS and what browser are you using? Windows 10, Chrome
Have you tried another browser? or another computer/different OS? Yes - it works
Do you get the popup stating style was copied when you press CTRL-SHIFT-C? Yes
If you map the shortcuts to something else like ALT-SHIFT- does it work? Yes
If you map the shortcuts back to CTRL-SHIFT- does they start working? No
I'd be happier if all the ctrl-shift keys didn't work - weird that it's just this one. It stopped working a couple of weeks ago, so I don't really remember what was going on then.
It has the same issue in Firefox and incognito in Chrome. And interestingly with your 'related' link, I tried it in Word and it works as it shuold there - red text copied then produces red text with ctrl-V, and black (ie. default) text with ctrl-shift-V.
So it's not totally dependent on NR because it works from another machine, and it's not totally dependent on my laptop because it works in another app. I give up. It's the universe telling me to upgrade my laptop because it's 4 years old.
No - normally I'm not using Remote Desktop, I was just trying it to see if it was related to only my laptop. When using Remote Desktop from my laptop I do not see the issue, whereas with my laptop directly I do. Last night I updated from Win10 to 11 (keeping apps), and it's still not working.
