Since browsers do not currently support rtsp directly and the plugins seem unreliable or unsupported I don't think you have much choice other than to use something like VLC, ffmpeg or Motion to restream it in a format that browsers can show. this does not need to be in your laptop of course, it could be any other machine on your network.

Browsers do not support producing footage from RTSP directly - you will need middleware to do so, hence your mileage will vary.

You need to convert the RTSP stream to a MJPEG stream, or fMP4 if you wanted to go down that route.
