Updated the NR to 1.1.3 the issue is still there..
I just ran your flow on a raspberry Pi and accessed it from a Mac using Chrome and my results are the same as I posted above.
Maybe someone with a PC could try your flow and see what they get.
I tried with a bunch of different devices..

Try this... When you deploy the flow ... Close the /ui tab on your browser and reopen it... Then you will see --:--. then go back to the editor tab on your browser and inject the value... When you switch back to the /ui tab you will still see the --:-- . If you then reload the page you will get the correct value
UPDATE... I think I see what is going on ... If I deploy the flow and go to the /ui I see --:-- and if I inject THE SAME VALUE as before I see --:-- . But if Iinject a different one, all is ok and I don't need to reload
EDIT: I managed to fix the problem . when the tab is opened I seno payload 0 and then the saved values and it works without a problem
