(Doing preliminary research) Network capable AVR amplifiers

As is, I have an "old" amp.
It has HDMI-CEC, but that doesn't quite cut it for all needs.

So I am looking at getting an AMP with a network port too.
Then I should be able to control it - I hope.

eg:
Yamaha RX-V6A
Denon AVR-S750H
Onkyo TX-NR6100
Sony STR-DH790

I understand they "need" their own apps to control them.
But all that is is sending magic messages to them.

Anyone know if I could control them with NR?

As a fall back / last resort, I could use my Tasmota IR blaster thingy and just control the one I have with IR signals.

Denon has an API/protocol document available for their AVR's. It is a very simple protocol over TCP for which you can use the TCP nodes and there are various nodejs implementations for it, which can be easily integrated with node-red.

Marantz also has an API.

I believe it is even the same or similar (same overaching brand D&M).

Thanks guys.

Yeah, this is a fun Rabbit hole I am exploring.
And the new amps cost a fair bit of Bugs Bunny too!
