So I've turned it on/got 2FA.
It wasn't as painful as I thought.
But now if I want to run a flow to check the amount of emails I have.....
I don't have any key that I can see.

This is what Gmail displays after you enter the password:
Yeah, I did all that.
Actually I thought the phone number was already known to google. (But anyway...)
Did that, and it (google) said I now have 2FA working/running.
(Blank look) so now what?
(semi rhetorical) but I don't understand the workings.
Folks,
I'm going through the steps and I believe I have it working.
I use the mail in
node and put in what I have.
Error.
Application-specific password required: https://support.google.com/accounts/answer/185833 (Failure)"
But when I read more about this I'm seeing:
Important: To create an app password, you need 2-Step Verification on your Google Account.
If you use 2-Step-Verification and get a "password incorrect" error when you sign in, you can try to use an app password.
Create and manage your app passwords. You may need to sign in to your Google Account.
If you've set up 2-Step Verification but can't find the option to add an app password, it might be because:
Your Google Account has 2-Step Verification set up only for security keys.
I'm confused.
The last part says - as I read it:
You can't get an app key if you have 2FA active.
Yeah, ok, not a NR problem.
Sorry.
Wow, talk about difficult.
I need to set up a lot of stuff including a domain, or something.
Because I can't use my IP address directly.
Seems way too complicated.
I just tried to follow the instructions on that other thread to set up a new app password & couldn't find the page.
App passwords seem to have moved to https://myaccount.google.com/apppasswords
I doubt that is the case these days if you live in a place like London.
OFF TOPIC: 2FA
I use TOTP+ (Android) and KeepassXC (Android). I have just checked and I can copy my TOTP+ entry to the KeepassXC database and the 2FA codes match from both pieces of software. Now just need to check that KeepassXC on Laptop picks up the added entry in KeepassXC.
Trust me, if youâve ever looked at the vast arrays of hackers deniably employed by certain nation states, you would most certainly see that it is is true - even if you lived in some of the cities in Brazil or Mexico.
Yup. I regularly tell systems setting up 2FA that I canât use the QR code, it should then give you an alpha-numeric code. This is the salt code and you can keep that secure somewhere and be able to reproduce the OTP codes from it.
