Help with what MQTT explorer is saying and what I see

Sorry, I know... Off topic.

I'm asking here as I Know you lot and (I hope) you know me.
This will/should make for better/easier comms.

I'm confused with what I am seeing in MQTT_Explorer and what a CLI is showing me.
Forgive the oops with where the line is pointing.

MQTT_Exporer is saying it is empty.

Just in passing what version of mqtt are you running? There's been a little of discussion about mqtt explorer not being compatible with the latest mqtt 5 ( I think) protocol

I'd say that the clue is in the image here:

That does not appear to correspond to what you appear to have selected on the left hand side.

V 3.1.1

I haven't seen any reason to update to 5 yet.

Ok, I'll byte....

Yes, ok, but if you look at the top of the picture, publicIP is the name of the topic I selected.

That is the supposed contents of the message.

Yet you can see what the CLI says is the contents.

I subscribed to the topic and pressed the button to republish IP.
That is what you see in the CLI.

MQTT Explorer is showing me corrupted information.

I have since discovered I need to disconnect from the broker and reconnect.

Then the list is updated.

(But what a pain)

Which version of MQTT Explorer are you on? You might want to note that someone has picked up development and there is a "beta" version that has recently been updated, that version had been knocking around for a long time until someone started work on it again. I'm on the latest version, it seems to work fine.

0.4.0 beta 4
