I would like to use a node to monitor the ip, in case the connection drops for some reason I get an information that something is wrong
Hi & welcome to the forum.
Which IP - something other than the device running Node-RED (like a router or "smart thing" on your LAN network)?
My first recommendation would be to install node-red-node-ping - it can ping single or multiple things at once.
How do you want to be notified? Siren? Email? Telegram?
