You should never be running something as powerful as Node-RED as admin unless you really know what you are doing. In any case, it is very likely that you will hit various permissions issues when running as admin.

If you want to run multiple instances of Node-RED, you can do so with a standard install. Or you can use my alternate install to help if you want different versions of Node-RED for your different instances - or for if you have any other reasons to keep them isolated (for backup, etc).

If you're still monitoring this post, I was able to achieve what I needed using conventional Node-Red; by creating a recursive function.
