I'm not sure if this is already planned but it would be cool if the node-red-node-arduino node also supported using StandardFirmataEthernet or StandardFirmataWiFi so Arduino and the machine running Node-RED didn't have to be physically connected.
I’m sure a pull request would be welcomed, or alternatively you could write a contrib node and release it to the community
I would love to be able to but, unfortunately, my programming skills aren't at that level yet. I am learning though so maybe it is something I will be able to do in the future if someone else doesn't do it first.
Try the GPIO one, I think it supports Ethernet/wifi
