Orphaned directory?

In my node-RED user directory, I have a lib directory, which contains a empty flows directory.
It contains no files, and not sure of it's purpose.
Is it some garbage that I've accumulated over the years, something that has been depreciated, or does it serve some purpose.

.node-red/lib/flows

It's not doing any harm, but if it has no purpose I'd like to delete them.

The lib directory is where things get stored if you use the 'Export -> Library' feature in the editor.
