After a bit of pfaffing around I remembered the text input node can be configured for input of time.
And a few other things as well.
One thing I think is missing is a day of the week picker.
(It does month, week....) Day Of Week may be handy for some people.
The simple input type just uses the html5 text input types that your browser supports - I don't think there is a day of week picker option - though happy to be corrected.
