Trouble with Led on Dashboard

I have 3 Raspberry Pi that I am using and on two of them I am running Version 1.1.3 and on the other I am running version 1.0.6
The two running 1.1.3 i cannot deploy my Led or at least I cannot see my Led on the Dashboard when I create them.
I am doing exactly the same in 1.0.6 and it is not a problem they get deployed where they should be.
Is this a bug in 1.1.3 or is there a fix or am I doing something wrong.

I do not have problems in 1.0.6 but this latest version I cannot see them and they do not show up or light up on the Dashboard.

Welcome to the forum.

You haven't provided enough information to enable us to answer. We don't know, for example, how you are showing the LED on the dashboard. Have you installed a non-core node to display the LED?

Did you install node-red using the recommended install/upgrade script from the node red docs?

Create a very small flow consisting of just a few nodes exhibiting the problem. A couple of inject nodes and the led node would be ideal. Then Export just those nodes and paste it here. Use the </> button at the top of the text window when pasting it.

That is exactly the same program in Version 1.0.6

I am using the same ui Led it is the Node red Contrib UI Led version 0.3.3 using in same version of Node Red.
Yes I installed the upgrade version from the Node Red upgrade here.
When I import a flow from version 1.0.6 that has the Led working and showing fine into the new version 1.1.3 they are not there anymore

My simple flows are above they are exactly the same flow one copied and installed in version 1.0.6 and the Led work then I exported the flow to Version 1.1.3 and the Led are no longer there and cannot be seen

I hope that this helps I am new to here and if I have made a mistake I appreciate any help

I don't think you used the </> button (which is one of the icons at the top of the text entry window in the forum). I will edit your flow post for you to fix it.

It seems that some of the first one is missing. But anyway, we don't want a massive flow. Please construct a simple flow showing the problem, possibly just a couple of inject nodes and the led node.

That one the Led work great and not problem

The same program or nearly exactly the same the wording maybe slightly different but the have the same switch and Led.

what version of OS are you running on the Pi running NR v1.0.6 and the one running 1.1.3?

I've imported both flows on my mac and they both work fine and I imported the 1.1.3 version on a pi running 1.1.3 and it works fine when I flip the switch.

Try this, import your 1.1.3 flow back into the same flow and see what happens.

I am running version 10 Buster on all three Raspberry Pi and I have tried to import the corrected version and I have exactly the same problem the switch works fine but the Led is not there.
I am going to uninstall Node Red and try and go back to version 1.0.6 as I know that works.
I can create a switch and put the Led there and have it show up on the dashboard.
I spent a good part of a days thinking it was my fault and I was doing something wrong but now I can see something is not correct with the version I have.

It would be better to persevere until the problem is isolated. That way the problem will either be isolated to a problem on your system or a bug in the code, in either case it will get fixed. If you go back to a previous version that is only a short term solution.

Can you post the startup log you get when you start node red please, that may give us a clue. Also check the Browser Developer Console for errors.

If you past the log here then use the same method you should have used when posting flows, which has been described several times.

Alan, I have to agree with Colin you should figure out what is going unless you intend to stay on 1.0.6 forever (and miss out on any new features).

The Pi I ran your flow on is also running Buster 10 so there has to be something else going on.

What else in your flows do you have? It is possible that if you have many tabs with other flows, something there is causing the problem. Is it possible that the complete flow on the Pi running 1.0.6 is different than this one running 1.1.3?

p.s. it is very easy to change releases of NR without changing the flow. To go from v1.0.6 to 1.1.3 in a terminal you would enter
npm install -g --unsafe-perm node-red@1.1.3
to go back to 1.0.6 you would use
npm install -g --unsafe-perm node-red@1.0.6
to go to the latest beta version you would use
npm install -g --unsafe-perm node-red@next

Hello Colin
I agree that is why I Installed Version 1.0.6 onto the Raspberry Pi what would not let me see the LED and it does not work still.
But on the other Raspberry Pi the Led work. They are both Raspberry Pi 4 with 4gb Ram and both boot from a 256 gb SSD.
I am now thinking of swapping over SSD from one Pi to the other. and see if the problem changes or if the problem stays with the Pi.
I am really sorry for all the mistakes I made yesterday I am new and was not really looking at the symbols at the top of the area on here where the </> symbol is.

I will see if the problem changes with the SSD drives or if it does not.

Is it possible that you installed node-red-contrib-ui-led before installing node-red-dashbaord?

When I do, the LED does not appear and there are error messages inteh NR log:

You need to remove the led node from the flow, uninstall it and reinstall it and it will work. I'll report this in a bit.

It gets even more Interesting I swapped over Boot drives from one Pi to another and now all the LED,s are working on all 3 Pi.
I am not 100% sure but I normally install the dashboard then install the Led contrib.
I have put the drives back in the original location and still all the LED,s are working on all 3 Pi.
I am at a Loss as to what has happened.

If I ever get to the bottom of this I will keep you posted. I do not know if I can upload my screen shots but I have taken all screen shots and saves the Flows on all 3 Pi so to prove to myself I am not going crazy.

As I said, I've reproduced this and there is a bug where you install the ui-led first then install the dashboard.

once you restart Node-RED things are resolved and the problem is gone, the led appears. So this is a weird edge case I'll report to the plugin author.
