UI nodes missing after updating node-red on windows

I get the following warning when I start node-red on my windows machine, and my ui nodes are missing.

16 Feb 11:30:42 - [warn]

Your flow credentials file is encrypted using a system-generated key.

If the system-generated key is lost for any reason, your credentials
file will not be recoverable, you will have to delete it and re-enter
your credentials.

You should set your own key using the 'credentialSecret' option in
your settings file. Node-RED will then re-encrypt your credentials
file using your chosen key the next time you deploy a change.

I do not understand where the the key is located or how to reset it. I have tried removing and reinstalling node-red but it did not help.

Can anyone help me get this going?

Thanks for any help.

This is a warning only and will not be the cause for UI nodes being lost.

Can you post the full startup log, use the </> button at the top of the forum entry window when pasting it in.

Also explain what you mean by the nodes being missing. Where are they missing from.

I assumed that the warning had something to do the the ui/dashboard nodes missing. I did not realize that that I need to reinstall the ' node-red-dashboard' now that I have I think I'm all good.

Thanks for the help, sorry for being a noob...

How did it become uninstalled?

the install of node red on this laptop was really old, i recently updated it and I think that is what removed the dashboard nodes.

That would certainly not normally happen during an update.
Did you not get a Flows Stopped due to missing nodes message?
