UNS, IT/OT challenges, and what’s actually working – 29 April webinar

Hey folks,

The Mayker team recently shared how they’re using FlowFuse to build a real Unified Namespace (UNS) for IT/OT integration—something that caught a lot of attention at Hannover Messe. If you missed the session, you’ve got another chance to catch it on April 29, this time with even more detail.

They’ll dive into how they’re tackling the usual pain points—siloed data, fragile systems, and scaling issues—with a low-code, edge-to-cloud approach that’s actually working in real-world setups.

If you're dealing with similar challenges, this one’s definitely worth checking out.

Hi there, that's interesting!
In terms of IoT, myself, I see a need for something that I have not so far seen supported by FlowFuse (I might be wrong of course)...

In those IoT projects I have worked in there was always two main areas of interest from my customers:

  • the "traditional" data gathering of sensor data, smart algorithms for pro-active and preventive service information and the possibilities to send commands
  • secure remote access to the machines in the OT network

As in the example mentioned Siemens S7 PLC's. You would like to, from remote, establish a secure VPN tunnel to the OT network allowing you to use dedicated configuration tools for all kind of configuration work like changing process params, downloading logfiles, upgrade FW/SW etc etc. For Siemens S7 as exampel, running the TIA tool and for others typically using the web interface where and if supported

This second part is today available in many commercial IoT system solutions so I just wondered if you also have had this on the white board as a possible extension of FlowFuse?

With kind regards, Walter
