Version/upgrade best practice for NR 3.x on Ubuntu 20 and upwards?

Hello,
Have a few Ubuntu 20.04 NR installs that work well and are very stable.
I see that those machines are now suggesting an upgrade to Ubuntu 22 LTS.
Is this a good time to upgrade to 22 LTS and are there good resons to do it at this time?
Or better to stay on 20.04 for another year or so?
Many thanks for any helpful comments.

Really this would be better put in a Ubuntu forum. Personally I use Debian and I always hate major upgrades because they are fraught with uncertainties. Great when they work but potentially impossible to fix when they don't.

Of course, I'll have to do it eventually. I'm on Buster at the moment.

Thanks @TotallyInformation appreciate the reply.
On these installs, NR is the only important thing, so the priority is to pick the
best possible host OS, hence the question here.

I guess I agree totally with what you write.
My installs are rock solid so I am reluctant to upgrade at this point unless
there are very good reasons for doing so. Yes, at some point it will become
necessary. Just trying g to pick the right time. Many thanks.

20.04 is still LTS for a good while so if it isn’t broke don’t fix it. ( though I have had no problems with 22.04 either). I usually wait until the new version has had a fix pack or 2. It has had one I think. So…

As Dave says, 20 is fully supported till (I think) 2025, so no need to upgrade if all you use is node red and if you used the Ubuntu/Debian/pi script to install and upgrade node red. There is no point in upgrading the os.
