Zigbee IR blaster

I came across a battery powered IR blaster that works via zigbee2mqtt and exposes 6 binary buttons, pretty useful if you have IR devices that you want to control.

I have a ceiling fan that uses IR, putting this thing at some random in line of sight spot saves another remote.
Hopefully my remote(s) are compatible with the signal.

Mine has arrived :+1:
Just for others - added it into Zigbee2MQTT by inserting pin into reset hole and holding in until it started flashing - rember to put Zigbee2MQTT into Join mode

Click on switch 1 on and select study - point remote at it and press a button
If it's something like tv/on off - I suggest just programming the on and then you can control it by switching it on every time you want to emulate pressing the button

(You can send successive on commands and it will resend the IR code each time)

I programmed the switch 1 off with same code and now I don't seem able to erase/unregister it now

Mine is arriving today.

Somehow cannot get it to respond to commands using the MQTT out node!

The thing is become very valuable to me, works flawlessly for my ceiling fan.

Perhaps you found the solution in the mean time. what worked for me was:

  • from registered, put it into study mode,
  • then put it back to unregistered.
