npm v2? That doesn't look right. Also looks like you may not have build tools installed.
If you use Dave's script to update things, you may want to switch to node.js v16 which is the latest long-term-support version. That should also sort out the npm issue. Not sure, but I think that will also make sure that build tools is installed.
