I have asked this question before, but I don't get the problem fixed. I am running a recent version of node red and after an earlier update of node red this problem occurred. It takes a long time to find the group I want to use and I am curious about what is going wrong or what I am doing wrong. I hope that someone of this group can help me.

I beleive the order is controled by the order in the dashboard => Layout => Tabs & Links. Re arrange it there and it will be rearranged in the selection list.
Thanks for the reply! The order in the dashboard layout is ok. I am using numbers to get the right order. It looks that the order in the group selection is determined by the sequence of editing the groups. The last group I editted is also the last group in the selection list....
