Contrib-s7 - Debug setting in the config node

Hello

I am using the contrib-s7 nodes to communicate to an s7-1500 PLC. When i am not connected though I do not want the end point config nodes to generate errors in the debug window. I saw that there was a Debug setting which i thought was to control this, I set to off. But i still get an error in the console and the debug side bar telling me that...

[error] [s7 endpoint:blah] Error connecting to PLC:

I am wondering if anyone else has tried to this setting with success?
