Discourse running slow?

Is it just me, or is Discourse now very slow to respond?

Submitting a thread response and even updates to the new message list seem really slow. In fact, everything now seems slow.

No noticable problems here.

Strange. Submitting a response like this can take 3 or 4 seconds. And the unread messages list takes a similar amount of time after opening the list to update with the new entries.

I need to do some testing. Could be that Vivaldi doesn't like the hundreds of windows/tabs I have open. Though I'm not seeing any issues on other websites.

Trying another post - this time with a clean profile using Brave instead of Vivaldi.

OK, that was more like the speed I'd expect. Must be something to do with my Vivaldi config or the number of tabs I've got open.

Use a proper browser like Safari?

(Sorry Julian, you walked right into that one )

Safari. Isn't that the Internet Explorer de nos jours? :upside_down_face:

My use of browsers is quite varied

Home : Safari (Now)
Work : Edge -> Daily Duties, Chrome -> Microsoft Admin Portals

As jbudd so elequently say's, Safari === 20st C IE.

To be fair to Vivaldi, I DO have a LOT* of tabs/windows open - even if most of them are asleep.

And I probably need a clear-out of my extensions too.

I use Edge for work only (with about 5 different profiles), I was using Vivaldi for most stuff and Brave for only YT. But recently, I already realised that I've rather abused Vivaldi so I'm using multiple profiles in Brave with only older and dev stuff in Vivaldi.

I refuse to use Chrome.

Safari only gets used on the rare occasion I fire up my Macbook Pro.

You've never said?

There are other work arounds also.
I think there is an extension for edge that plays adverts at 10X speed.

I'll have to find it, and will share elsewhere if I find it.

I found that YT, found ways to stop it, bit of a cat and mouse game, but the 10x speed still registered the ad view apparently, so was undetectable.
