It would be nice also if a search could be done for all the occurrences of a specific node (by node type not the name given to it.). If it results that this already exists and I haven't found it I apologise, as I'm still learning.
Post moved to it's own topic, as original topic was relating to visual alerts after a search.
Enter type:template in the search. Also check other options in the drop down to the right of the search input. You can also do compound search like type:template is:modified blahblah
