Hello, greetings to all, it seems that the Chrome browser has stopped considering basic authentication safe from pop-up notifications in the Android operating system and this means that autocomplete does not work and we have to enter the username and password by hand. I have done my tests and this happens to me, could someone else confirm it by doing the test?
It stopped being in any way safe a very long time ago but it has taken time to persuade people to drop it. It is fine to help control things on a home network but of little use across wider networks. And utterly worse than useless if not coupled with TLS (HTTPS).
