Sidebar always open

I find it a minor annoyance that the sidebar is open every time I open the editor. Is there a way to cause it to use what it was last set to?

No "last used " settings, but you can pick other options.

it is easy enough to toggle with ctrl+space

but yes, it would be nice to store previous layout settings in cookie or browser storage or backend
