But on the Install tab, which I go to because it has the link to the nodes' page on flows.nodered.org, the LHS shows the latest version and the RHS has "Installed" with no reminder that this requires an update.
This morning one of the Pies is showing the links to flows.nodered.org on both tabs, and no console error. Has it been rebooted? Not sure, I did change the USB cables at some time yesterday.
Another, not rebooted, still does not show them and there is this error
XML Parsing Error: syntax error
Location: http://192.168.1.11:1880/settings?_=1758526763209
Line Number 1, Column 1:
I don't know how to interpret this error.
After a reboot, the icon has returned and the error gone.
Anyway, the link to flows.nodered is a side issue, this thread is about whether the button to update should also be on the "Install" tag.
Your two images each show a different version: the first shows that you have installed v1.27.1 and the second v1.27.2. If it's the same NR instance, that's not possible.
If, on the other hand, they are two separate NR instances, then I understand your FR.
My two images show the two tabs in Manage Palette, on the same machine!.
The "Nodes" tab shows on the left the version I have installed, which is sometimes not up to date, and on the right it shows [if] there is a new version available.
I see no problem with this behaviour.
The "Install" tab shows on the left the current release version. I assume this is correct. On the right is "installed" as a greyed out button, which is a bit misleading because I may not have that exact version installed.
Maybe the "Install" tab does not have easy access to the installed version?
I see the same thing. The Nodes tab says that 1.27.1 is installed, and 1.27.2 is available. The Install tab says that 1.27.2 is the current version, and says that the node is installed. It does not realise that the version installed is actually 1.27.1, not 1.27.2
