I've been hesitant to upgrade to 64bit on the Pi. RaspberryPi.org has been rather forward that the official 64bit release of RaspberryPi OS will probably occur on the Bullseye (v11) release of Debian. Bullseye was scheduled to release 2nd half of August 2021, so just around the corner. Perhaps official 64bit RaspberryPiOS will come soon after.
The present 64 bit alpha/beta that folks are using is based on Buster (v10) of Debain. I'm just holding off on adoption until the release of the newer Bullseye(v11)..
