If they are battery operated, you need to wake them up for the interview to take place.
If they are not waking up, change the batteries on them.
Make sure they are close to the controller or you have a repeater.
If they are not battery operated, check they are not being blocked by interference.
If you have reset your network - and were using encryption - use the same keys
