It would be great if we could select a wire and disable it. Sometimes you want to test a different route without deleting the wires. Being able to disable them would be very useful.
Wires don't have properties in the flow file. Any feature that involves adding properties to wires (custom colours, enabling/disabling, labelling) would be a major change to the flow file format. So whilst we wouldn't say "never", it isn't something we would consider lightly
