Hello,
I used the tab layout tool to correct the placement of some widgets. Once done, I received a message prompting me to merge the changes, which I approved.
The result is very concerning:
When I launch the flow editor, all my tabs are still present in the editor; however, the Dashboard 2.0 structure that was in place, as well as all my flows, have disappeared.
Does anyone have an idea how I could recover my work?
I have moved this to general since the merge notification is a Node-RED thing (not necessarily related to FlowFuse (the platform) or FlowFuse dashboard.
While I cannot answer for sure why your flows were lost, the fact you got a merge issue should have been cause for a pause. Did you check before merging what the outcome would be?
Did you have multiple editors open? Could someone else have made changes while you were working (and deployed some changes before you deployed?)
I would be very interested in a step by step of exactly the order of events just in case there is a serious issue?
If you are using FlowForge, have you checked your snapshots for a backup?
I’ll follow your guidance and keep you updated. Just to clarify, when I was prompted to accept the merge—since no conflicts were detected—I went ahead and accepted it. I’ve never encountered any issues with that process before.
I am taking in backup my project, I have yesterday bck and even if I replace the actuel project by yesterday backup ( it is a simple files backup of my project) and still the same empty project. All my own subflows are available in the nodes section but all empty.
It seems odd that the tabs are still there but seem to be empty, I think they are defined in the same flows file (at least in Node-red).
Does the central editor panel have a scrollbar?
Have you tried scrolling all the way out to see if things have somehow got shifted a long way down and right?
