A “Security Camera” device by a reputable company (Ring). That you actually fly like a drone around the home.

I use ring products (but not their services) - I am a DIY-er (like most here)
but seriously - a flying camera??? :roll_eyes:

  • I can't hear the intruder calling the other intruders name.....

You mean the company that sells everyone's door footage (in the US anyway) to the police?

I seem to remember having that conversation with Dave, maybe a decade ago, probably more now. When drones were just becoming marginally afordable (I won one actually, still have it though I can't fly it any more because it is too heavy and I don't have the required license).

Using Node-RED to realtime control the drone.

I don't watch it any more since some of their dystopian ideas have already come rather close to reality. :frowning:

Wrong word maybe, more towards non-wacky hardware - I can't find the right word to categorise hardware as being non-silly, actually decent/normal :nerd_face:

I use their ZWave sensors, but do not:

  • Use their services
  • Or hub (basically a Zwave Hub under it all) - I use A Zwave Serial over USB transceiver

As its ZWave (Their Sensors at least) its a set standard, so use my (well duh :smile:) own Node to communicate with them.

But the flying camera was a new one on me - just didn't expect such a silly device from them

This is great.

I'd buy two so that one could film the other. Just to be sure that it's ok and not broken.

I can already feel the anxiety and worry falling from me, knowing that I and everyone else is constantly being watched. No more crime, no more evil, only peace, love and harmony.

I can see a market for outdoor use, patrolling boundaries etc. However this appears only for indoor use.

Anyway I just attach cameras to our GSDs and send them out on patrol. :wink:
